New Delhi, Apr 27: Intensifying his attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Monday said he felt like the “right man in the wrong party” due to what he described as a toxic work environment under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.
In a video shared on social media, Chadha alleged that the party has changed and is now being run by “corrupt politicians” working for personal gains. He said he had quit his career as a chartered accountant to serve the country but found himself unable to function within the party.

“I gave 15 years of my prime youth to this party with my blood, sweat, and hard work. But this party is no longer the same. There is a toxic work environment, and you are stopped from working and even from speaking in Parliament,” he said.
Chadha asserted that his exit was not due to fear or pressure but stemmed from “disappointment, disgust and disenchantment.” He added that while one or two individuals could be mistaken, “seven people cannot be wrong,” referring to the group of leaders who left AAP along with him.
He said he considered three options — quitting politics, staying back to reform the party, or joining another party — and ultimately chose to continue his political journey elsewhere to pursue what he called “positive politics.”
Meanwhile, AAP has moved a petition before Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan seeking disqualification of seven MPs, including Chadha, Harbhajan Singh and Swati Maliwal, who quit the party. The party has indicated it may pursue legal action if necessary.
The developments come at a time when AAP is looking to expand its presence in states like Punjab, Gujarat and Goa ahead of upcoming assembly elections, even as internal challenges continue to mount.
