Mangaluru, Apr 15: St Agnes School commemorated Ambedkar Jayanti with profound reverence and great enthusiasm on April 14 in the school hall, paying a heartfelt tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar, the visionary architect of the Indian Constitution.
The event commenced with a gracious introduction by the master of ceremonies, Divya Shasta, who eloquently welcomed the gathering and highlighted the enduring significance of the occasion. This was followed by a serene and soul enriching prayer service conducted by the students of grade 9, invoking divine blessings and creating an atmosphere of solemnity and reflection.





















As a mark of deep respect and admiration, floral tributes were offered by teachers and students in honour of Dr B R Ambedkar, remembering his unparalleled contributions to social justice, equality, and nation building.
The vice principal, Sr Meena Fernandes AC, then delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address quoting, “Life should be great rather than long,” by Dr B R Ambedkar. She urged students to imbibe strong values and lead meaningful lives. She emphasized the importance of equality and discipline, and encouraged students to uphold the principles of justice and humanity in their daily actions. She further inspired them to treat everyone equally and value one another, thereby promoting harmony and respect in society.
The principal, Sr Maria Sarika AC, then addressed the gathering and appreciated the students for their active presence, remarking that such sincere participation is a meaningful way of paying tribute to a great personality like Dr B R Ambedkar.
The programme gracefully progressed towards its conclusion with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to the principal, dedicated teachers, enthusiastic students, and the vibrant summer camp children for their invaluable participation and cooperation in making the event truly memorable.
The celebration culminated with the singing of the National Anthem, instilling a deep sense of patriotism, unity, and collective pride among all present.
