Patna, Apr 10: The Bihar Legislative Assembly received a bomb threat via email on Friday, prompting an immediate security response, police said.
Sachiwalay-1 SDPO Anu Kumari said officials alerted police after receiving the threatening email, following which a thorough inspection of the Assembly premises was initiated. Bomb disposal squads and dog units have been deployed, and an intensive search operation is underway.
Officials noted that a similar threat was issued to the Assembly on March 13, which was later confirmed to be a hoax.

In a related development, the Delhi Legislative Assembly also received a bomb threat email on Thursday, triggering a large-scale security drill across key government establishments. The email, sent to multiple recipients including Assembly-linked accounts, warned of possible blasts at the Assembly, Secretariat, certain schools and a metro station at different times.
Acting swiftly, Delhi Police conducted extensive anti-sabotage checks at all locations mentioned, including the Assembly premises, Secretariat, schools and metro stations. While initial assessments suggest the threat may be a hoax, security has been heightened and cyber teams are working to trace the source of the email.
Earlier, similar threat emails were reported from schools in Patiala, where bomb squads and police teams carried out search and sanitisation operations. Recent weeks have seen multiple such incidents across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, most of which were later found to be false alarms.
Authorities continue to remain on high alert, with investigations underway to identify those behind the threat emails.
