Nashik, Apr 10: Tension prevailed in Nashik after serious allegations of misconduct, harassment and alleged pressure for religious conversion surfaced at a reputed IT company, triggering protests by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to police sources, a group of women employees lodged a complaint alleging that nine colleagues subjected them to harassment, exploitation and coercion linked to religious conversion. Taking note of the gravity of the allegations, police have registered cases and initiated an investigation through a Special Investigation Team (SIT) as per the directions of the Police Commissioner.

Protesting against the incident, BJP leaders and workers staged a demonstration outside the company premises on April 10, raising slogans and demanding strict action against those involved. Protesters also alleged that the company management initially refused to accept their memorandum.

BJP leaders demanded that the probe be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), stating that a thorough and impartial investigation was necessary. They warned that any form of misconduct or exploitation of women in corporate spaces would not be tolerated and called for stringent punishment for the accused.

With political parties stepping into the issue, the matter has intensified, drawing widespread attention across the city. Meanwhile, all eyes are on the ongoing SIT probe to determine the facts of the case.
