Mumbai, Apr 7: Tension prevailed in the Charkop area of Kandivali West on Tuesday after a tragic road accident claimed the life of a minor girl, triggering protests and a road blockade by angry locals.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred when the girl, reportedly a student of a BMC school, was crossing the road with her friends after school hours. A dumper allegedly ran over her, causing fatal injuries. Eyewitnesses said the impact was severe, leading to her death on the spot.
