Margao, Apr 6: A major fire broke out at a wine store in Gogol-Margao on Sunday morning, destroying property worth lakhs of rupees.
The incident occurred around 10 am, with the fire brigade receiving a call at approximately 10.17 am. Fire personnel rushed to the spot and began firefighting operations by 10.30 am.

Fire officer Gill D’Souza said the blaze rapidly engulfed the store, gutting goods stacked inside. He estimated the loss to the owner at over Rs 3 lakh, while goods worth around Rs 20 lakh were saved due to timely intervention by the fire brigade.
Though the exact cause of the fire is under investigation, officials suspect a short circuit may have triggered the incident.
