Mumbai biker killed in hit-and-run incident, accused on the run

Mumbai, Mar 29: A 27-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after being hit by another two-wheeler rider in Goregaon West, with police registering a case of negligence and launching a search for the accused.

The victim, Arif Shaikh, who worked at a mall, had left home on his motorcycle on Saturday morning. Later in the evening, between 7:30 pm and 8 pm, an autorickshaw driver brought him back home in a critical condition.

According to the driver, Shaikh was struck by another motorcyclist at Mitha Nagar. Bystanders reportedly helped place the injured man into the autorickshaw and directed the driver to take him home using the address on his identity card.

Shaikh had suffered severe head injuries and was unconscious. His family immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Goregaon Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident, while efforts are underway to trace the unidentified biker responsible for the crash.

Shaikh is survived by his parents, wife, and a young child.
