Mumbai, Mar 29: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has removed metal sheets from the busy Lucky junction stretch, following reports of frequent accidents and severe traffic congestion caused by ongoing underground pipeline work.
The removal of the sheets marks the beginning of active groundwork, with officials confirming that pipeline work is now progressing at full pace. While this has led to temporary traffic diversions in the area, authorities say the move is necessary to ensure faster completion of the project.

Commuters may continue to face delays in the short term due to rerouting of vehicles on the already congested stretch. However, civic officials have indicated that once the work is completed, traffic movement is expected to return to normal within the next few days.
The development comes as a relief for motorists who had been navigating hazardous conditions due to the metal plates, which had become a cause for concern amid rising accidents and slow-moving traffic in the area.
