Panaji, Mar 27: Voting through postal ballots for the Ponda by-election in Goa will commence from March 29, officials said. The facility is being extended to senior citizens above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities listed as absentee voters by the Election Commission of India.

As per the schedule, dedicated polling teams will visit voters’ residences between 9 am and 5 pm from March 29 to March 31 to facilitate voting.

Electors engaged in election duty—including senior magistrates, flying squad personnel, additional returning officers, police, Goa IDV, and home guards—who have opted for postal ballots will also cast their votes during the same period. A facilitation centre has been set up at the Court Room, Office of Mamlatdar of Ponda for this purpose.

Meanwhile, polling for the remaining electorate is scheduled to be held on April 9.
