Kuwait City, Mar 20: Kuwait’s energy infrastructure came under attack early Friday after multiple drones struck the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, one of the country’s most critical oil processing facilities.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) confirmed that the refinery was targeted in the early hours, triggering a fire in some of its operational units.

Authorities said emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the site to contain the blaze and assess the damage. Officials indicated that the situation was being brought under control, with safety protocols swiftly activated.

Initial reports confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities in the incident. However, a detailed assessment of structural and operational damage is currently underway.

Located in Kuwait, the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery is among the largest in the region and plays a vital role in global oil supply chains.

The extent of disruption to refinery output remains unclear, as authorities continue to evaluate the impact of the attack.
