Beltangady, Mar 17: An externment order has been issued for the third time against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, a prominent activist associated with the Soujanya case protests.
As per the high court’s directive, Puttur assistant commissioner Stella Varghese on March 16 ordered that Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi be externed to Manvi taluk in Raichur district for a period of six months.
The externment period will be in force from March 16 to September 16.
Following the order, a police team led by Beltangady subdivision DYSP Rohini C K reached Timarodi’s residence in Ujire on Monday midnight to serve the notice. However, he was reportedly not present at home at the time.
Subsequently, the police pasted the externment notice on the wall of his house, sources said.
