Srinivas University hosts national techno-cultural & sports fest ‘Tech Yuva – 2026’

Mangaluru, Mar 9: srinivas university institute of engineering & technology organised the national level techno cultural and sports fest 'Tech Yuva – 2026' at the Open-Air Auditorium of Mukka campus on March 9.

Chief guest, Shyamprasad Hebbar, vice president and chief people services officer of UnifyCX Pvt Ltd inaugurated the fest and emphasized the importance of cyber awareness in today’s digital world. He stated that cyber-attacks can lead to the loss of personal data, bank accounts, and even digital identity. He encouraged engineering students to act as cyber defenders by protecting systems and using technology responsibly.

The programme was presided over by K Sathyanarayana Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University. In his presidential address, he noted that engineering students are the future innovators and problem solvers of society. He said that although automation may replace some traditional jobs, new opportunities will emerge in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet technologies, cyber security, and green engineering. He advised students to focus on innovation, data skills, and developing engineering solutions that benefit society.

Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde, dean of SUIET welcomes the gathering, Prof Srinath Rao K, convener of Tech Yuva 2026, introduced the chief guest. vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Praveen BM, research director of Srinivas University. The programme was compered by Prof Rohan Fernandes. Student coordinators, faculty and students were present.
