New Delhi, Mar 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the evolving regional situation in West Asia amid escalating hostilities.
In a post on X, Modi said he conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasised that the safety of civilians must remain a priority. “India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities,” he stated.

Later in the night, the Prime Minister also spoke to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and condemned the recent attacks on the Gulf nation. He affirmed that India stands in solidarity with the UAE during these challenging times.
Meanwhile, an Iranian missile strike on Sunday in the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh reportedly killed at least nine people and left 11 others missing, according to police. The attack is said to be the deadliest in Israel since the conflict began.
The escalation followed a wave of strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on Saturday, which reportedly killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded swiftly with retaliatory strikes that continued into Sunday.
The situation in the region remains tense as diplomatic engagements and military operations unfold simultaneously.
