Udupi: National Science Day celebrated at St Cecily’s CBSE School

Udupi, Mar 2: St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), observed National Science Day with great enthusiasm and scientific spirit. The school blossomed into a hub of creativity and curiosity as students engaged actively in the pre-celebration activities such as science model making, ‘Innovation and you’, poster making and photography contests all which ignited the curiosity and creative thinking skills in the young learners.

The science club hosted a meaningful variety entertainment programme to celebrate National Science Day on Feb 27. The curtains opened to a solemn prayer which soulfully invoked wisdom and clarity of thought. The gathering and esteemed dignitaries Sr Preethi Savitha AC, the vice principal,, chief guest - Seema, faculty of the school, and superior of St Cecily’s convent and KG coordinator of the school- Sr Priya AC were accorded a cordial welcome.

The programme unfolded lively presentations such as a celebratory song, narrative act on the impressive life of Sir C V Raman and a humorous yet thought provoking skit on Superstition v/s Science. The esteemed dignitaries distributed prizes of the competitions to the winners.

The chief guest, in her message encouraged students to emulate the unique traits of Sir CV Raman, such as keen observation of surroundings, boundless curiosity and fearless inquiry and urged them to cultivate a scientific temperament in their life, which could lead them to create a better world.

The celebration was thus an effective eye opener that science is not just confined to laboratories but exists in every question one dares to ask and every truth one strives to discover.
