SMVITM Bantakal celebrates Annual Sports Meet

Udupi, Feb 27: The Annual Sports Meet of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal was held on February 25 at the institute premises.

Vignesh, body builder, India 2024 gold medalist, All India Inter Railway Champion and Alumnus, SMVITM was the chief guest for the inaugural function. He appreciated the dedication of students and teachers who inspire everyone to pursue excellence in both academics and sports while upholding fairness and integrity.

He emphasises that Sports Day is a celebration of determination and the spirit of healthy competition. He reminds students that true success lies not merely in winning medals but in showing courage and discipline.

Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO, Sode Group of Institutions presided over the function. In his presidential remarks, he said “Sports - play a vital role in shaping character, building leadership qualities and nurturing resilience”. He encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly, give their best, and uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Paul Suraj, physical education director and faculty, staff and students were present during the function.

Student sports secretary Aneesh administered the oath to the participants. Attractive march past was held before the inauguration.

Niramaya College of Nursing and Allied Sciences students bagged the first prize and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) students got the second prize for the best contingent award for march past. Overall champion was awarded to CSE students.

Rathnakumar secretary SSVMET; Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO Sode Group of Institutions and Harish Belman, governing body member of SMVITM were present during the valedictory programme.
