Ranchi, Feb 26: Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Jharkhand on Thursday to lay the foundation stone of the Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust at Kadma Marine Drive in Jamshedpur.
As per the official itinerary, the President’s MI-17 helicopter will land at Sonari Airport at around 12 noon. She will first attend the groundbreaking ceremony at Kadma and later proceed to Tata Manipal Medical College in Baridiha.

At the medical college, the programme will begin with a photo session with students who have secured top positions in various semesters. The President will then interact with meritorious students during an introductory conference organised by the college administration. She is also expected to tour the campus and participate in a tree-plantation drive.
The college management has announced plans to develop a “Draupadi Murmu Sports and Food Complex” on the campus in the long term. Only 200 invitees have been permitted to attend the event.
Several dignitaries are slated to be present on the occasion, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Governor Santosh Gangwar, Singhbhum MP Jaba Manjhi, Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Baran Mahto, MLAs Saryu Rai and Purnima Sahu, along with Tata Steel CEO T V Narendran.
To ensure foolproof arrangements during the President’s visit, nearly 4,000 police personnel and 125 magistrates have been deployed across the city and along the convoy route. Officials described the security measures as unprecedented.
Three specialised “hit teams” will form the core of the high-security grid. One team will be stationed at Sonari Airport, the second at Kadma police station, and the third at Sidgora police station. Each unit comprises specially trained personnel equipped with advanced combat skills and precision marksmanship to respond swiftly to any potential threat.
Additionally, 24 buildings along the convoy route have been identified as strategic points, with security personnel deployed on rooftops for surveillance. CCTV cameras and drones will monitor the movement, while officers equipped with binoculars will keep vigil. Rapid Action Police teams have also been stationed near the Kadma and Baridiha venues and at the Mango bus stand to maintain law and order.
