Kuwait City, Feb 24: As Kuwait gears up to celebrate its National Day on February 25, authorities have called on residents to mark the occasion with pride while ensuring responsible and civic-minded conduct.

In an official statement, the Kuwait Municipality emphasised that public celebrations must reflect civic awareness, respect for shared spaces and the patriotic values associated with the national occasion.

Celebrations must reflect civic responsibility

The municipality stated that expressions of joy during the festivities should mirror the community’s sense of responsibility and national pride. Officials noted that public behaviour during such events sends a broader message about Kuwaiti society and its values.

Enthusiasm, they stressed, should not come at the cost of public order or communal wellbeing. Residents were urged to demonstrate civilised conduct in keeping with the spirit of National Day.

Cleanliness and safety in focus

Special emphasis was placed on maintaining cleanliness in streets, parks and other public facilities. The civic body warned that littering during celebrations could mar the city’s appearance and create potential safety hazards, especially in crowded areas.

Discarded waste in busy streets and recreational spaces may pose risks during large gatherings, the statement said, urging the public to cooperate in preserving a clean and safe environment throughout the festivities.

Caution against balloons and water guns

The municipality also cautioned residents against the use of balloons and water guns during celebrations, stating that such practices could lead to disorder or damage to property.

Authorities reminded the public that celebrations should be conducted in a responsible manner that safeguards both public and private property and projects a positive image of the nation.

With large crowds expected to participate in the February 25 events, officials reiterated that national pride is best expressed through respect for public spaces, consideration for others and disciplined celebration.
