Karkala, Feb 24: Former chief minister M Veerappa Moily stated on Monday that the issue of power-sharing within the state government should not be a subject of public debate. He advised that if any necessity arises regarding leadership, the high command and Congress MLAs should take a decision rather than discussing it openly, as such talk creates a sense of insecurity among the public and affects the stability of the government.
Speaking to the media in Karkala, Moily emphasized that there is no confusion within the administration. "Whether the chief minister and deputy chief minister embrace each other or have differences personally is not the priority. What people want is governance. Cabinet meetings and government programmes are being conducted regularly. If there were a crisis, how could the cabinet function so smoothly? The seamless conduct of these meetings is proof of the government's stability," he said.

He further noted that while it is common for leaders to aspire for the chief minister's post or influential cabinet positions, such ambitions should never become public property for discussion. "As a senior leader, I want to advise everyone to stop speaking about this in public," he added.
Moily highlighted that the people of the state desire a strong and corruption-free government. He noted that the Siddaramaiah-led government is fulfilling the hopes of the poor through its guarantee schemes. "Both the public and party workers want this government to remain stable. For the overall development of Karnataka, party leaders must strive to ensure the administration remains secure," he remarked.
Regarding the upcoming Bahubali Mastakabhisheka in Karkala, Moily mentioned that MN Rajendra Kumar has already met chief minister Siddaramaiah to submit a request for funds. "He has also provided me with a list. I am confident that the government will provide maximum grants required for the development of the region for this historic event," Moily assured.
