Kundapur: Siddapura youth dies after drowning in Varahi river

Kundapur, Feb 23: Sudheer Shetty (26), a resident of Nidukodu in Ulloor-74 village, died after drowning in the Varahi river at Bhagimane in Hosangadi village.

According to sources, Sudheer had gone for a swim in the river on February 15. As he did not know swimming properly, he accidentally drowned in the water. He was rescued and admitted to a hospital in Manipal for treatment. However, he succumbed on February 21 without responding to medical care.

His father, Bhujanga Shetty, has filed a complaint with the police. A case has been registered at the Amasebail police station.

Sudheer Shetty was serving as the secretary of Shri Banashankari Yuvaka Mandal of Ulloor-74 village. He was working as a writer in a private company. He was unmarried and is survived by his father, mother and brother.
