Saudi Arabia allocates over SAR3 billion in Ramadan support to social security families

Daijiworld Media Network - Riyadh

Riyadh, Feb 21: As Ramadan progresses, Saudi Arabia has approved the distribution of more than SAR3 billion in financial assistance to social security beneficiaries, following a royal order aimed at easing economic burdens during the holy month.

The directive was issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, after a recommendation from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The decision underscores the leadership’s focus on supporting low-income families and ensuring they are able to meet essential needs during Ramadan.

Under the approved plan, each head of household will receive SAR1,000, while dependents will be granted SAR500 each. The total assistance package exceeds SAR3 billion, with funds set to be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts in the coming hours to guarantee prompt access.

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the leadership’s continued commitment to citizens’ welfare. He noted that the measure reflects sustained efforts to strengthen social protection systems and provide meaningful relief to families during Ramadan.
