Mangaluru, Feb 21: The NCC Wings (Army and Air) of St Agnes College (Autonomous) proudly hosted a grand felicitation ceremony to honor the outstanding achievements of the college’s Republic Day Camp 2026 (RDC) cadets. The event commenced with a vibrant and ceremonial procession featuring bike riders, a marching band, NCC cadets, dignitaries, and the distinguished RDC cadets, creating an atmosphere filled with pride, discipline, and festivity.
Flying officer Dr Hithakshi, ANO of the Air Wing, presented a felicitation note to CUO Poonam Kuwar and cadet sergeant Celine D’Silva in recognition of their commendable achievements.









First, CUO Poonam Kuwar of I BA was acknowledged for her distinguished participation in the Republic Day parade held at New Delhi, where she proudly represented the Karnataka & Goa Directorate. Poonam successfully completed a rigorous series of eight camps across Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Delhi, ultimately marching on the prestigious Kartavya Path during the Republic Day Parade. She also had the honour of participating in the Prime Minister’s rally. Her dedication, discipline, and resilience earned her the coveted DDG Commendation Card, bringing immense pride to the institution and inspiring her fellow cadets.
Next, cadet sergeant Celine D’Silva of II BSc was honoured for her outstanding performance at the All-India Vayu Sainik Camp 2025. Her Drone Team secured the gold medal, while the directorate was adjudged Best in Drone Operations and Best Air Contingent, marking a remarkable achievement. In recognition of her excellence, Celine was given the prestigious opportunity to meet the chief of Air Staff, Amar Preet Singh, along with other senior officials—an experience she described as a dream come true. Her accomplishment stands as a testament to her goal-oriented perseverance, discipline, and teamwork, earning her the distinguished DDG Commendation Card.
Lt Gayathri BK, ANO of the Army Wing, presented a felicitation note to cadet Sathwika R Bhat in recognition of her commendable achievements and dedicated service.
Cadet Sathwika R Bhat, a talented young dancer, consistently demonstrated dedication and excellence, earning medals at district and state level competitions. Her rigorous training across various centres ultimately led to her participation in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026, where she represented the Karnataka & Goa Directorate with distinction. Her contribution played a significant role in the Directorate securing the prestigious Prime Minister’s banner, while the army wing was adjudged the Best Major Unit. Sathwika’s accomplishments in both cultural performance and leadership reflect her discipline, perseverance, and artistic excellence, earning her the esteemed DDG Commendation Card.
Cadet sergeant Celine D’Silva shared her experiences while representing the other two cadets, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the principal and to everyone who supported them in achieving their success.
Sr Dr M Venissa AC, principal, commended the cadets for their dedication and inspired the audience with her motivating words. The event was attended by Sr Norine, principal of St Agnes Pre University College, Sr Carmel Rita AC the administrator, parents, and faculty members whose support contributed significantly to the cadets’ achievements.
The programme concluded with the national anthem, leaving all present proud and inspired.
