Karkala: PUC student dies after car-bike collision near Bannadka

Karkala, Feb 13: A Pre-University (PUC) student of Rotary PU College succumbed to injuries sustained in a car-bike collision that occurred on Thursday night at Bannadka in the taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Shravan, son of Sadananda Suvarna and Rajashree of Kotebagilu in Marpadi village.

The accident took place near Bannadka Daivasthana on the under-construction Karkala–Moodbidri National Highway. Shravan was reportedly riding pillion with content creator Suraj Anchan at the time of the mishap.

According to sources, a car coming at high speed from the Karkala side rammed into the bike. The impact of the collision left both riders critically injured.

They were initially admitted to a hospital in Moodbidri and later shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, Shravan succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts, it is learnt.
