Mumbai, Feb 13: In a shocking incident highlighting growing safety concerns in the city, a seven-year-old girl was attacked with a blade and robbed of her gold locket in Kandivli East on Thursday afternoon.
The incident took place in Kranti Nagar’s Karnataka Chawl Galli area when the child was on her way to school around 1 pm. According to information received, an unidentified man, who was allegedly lying in wait, stopped the girl and suddenly attacked her with a blade.

Taking advantage of the chaos after the unexpected assault, the accused snatched the gold locket from her neck and fled the scene amid the crowd.

The shocking daylight robbery has triggered fear and anger among residents of the Kandivli area. Parents questioned how children can be sent to school safely if such attacks occur in broad daylight.
