Tehran, Feb 7: A large fire broke out on Friday at a carpentry workshop inside a military base in eastern Tehran, sending smoke across the Iranian capital. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported, Iranian news agencies said.
The semi-official Mehr news agency reported that the workshop is part of a military complex linked to Iran’s joint military staff, though further details were not provided. State-affiliated Nour News noted that the fire prompted widespread circulation of images on social media under the headline “explosion in Tehran.”

Fires and explosions in Iran have often stoked fears of potential attacks by Israel or the United States, particularly after last June’s 12-day air war in which Israel, with brief US support, struck key Iranian nuclear installations and killed several top military commanders and nuclear scientists.
