Akhil Akkineni’s rural drama ‘Lenin’ set for May 1 release, star cast & music grab attention

Mumbai, Feb 5: Akhil Akkineni is all set to charm audiences with his upcoming rural drama Lenin, directed by Murali Kishore Abburu, who is known for the hit Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha. Initially, Sreeleela was roped in as the female lead, but she was later replaced by Bhagyasri Borse.

The makers recently released the first single from the film, VaareVaa VaareVaa, which has been receiving an enthusiastic response from fans. Alongside the song launch, the team announced that Lenin is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. However, the date might change, as Ram Charan’s highly anticipated film Peddi is expected to release around the same period. To avoid clashing with a major tier-one hero’s film, the makers may reconsider the release schedule.

The film features Shivaji in a pivotal role and is produced by Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna under Sithara Entertainments and Annapurna Studios banners. Reportedly, Lenin tackles the sensitive issue of honour killings, promising a mix of drama and social relevance for the audience.
