Media Release

Shivamogga, Feb 4: Under the initiative of Sneha Jyothi Samaja Seva Samsthe, Hale Soraba, free tuition classes are being conducted for primary-level students in 9 villages of Soraba taluk. These classes aim to support students’ education and overall development.

With the cooperation of local volunteers, guidance is being provided to students from the villages of Kuppagadde, Hale Soraba, Hultikoppa, Mutuguppe, Nadahalli, Uraganahalli, Kodakanti, Kanakeri, and Hosakoppa. From each village, 25 students are participating, and in total more than 200 rural students attend these classes daily for 2 hours in the evening.

During these evening sessions, special attention is given to:

• Improving basic literacy and numeracy
• Helping with school homework
• Clarifying subject-related learning difficulties
• Developing handwriting and skills
• Learning through games and creative activities

These efforts encourage children to attend school regularly with happiness and confidence.

Parents shared that, due to agricultural work, they were unable to focus on their children’s education, and after school hours children often spent time roaming, playing unsafely on roads or near drains, which caused concern for their safety. After the start of these tuition classes, children are now productively engaged under the guidance of volunteers. Their time is being used meaningfully, and parents feel reassured knowing their children are safe and studying. They expressed satisfaction that their children’s academic progress has improved significantly.

The participation of volunteers from all 9 villages in supporting children’s education has brought pride to the community. There is a deep sense of fulfilment in contributing to a child’s learning. Parents and children, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organization for providing this opportunity.

Sister Joel Lasrado SRA, director of Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre said, every child deserves quality education. "Everyone must join hands to improve rural education. With love, encouragement, opportunities, and proper guidance, the organisation continues to work actively to nurture children’s talents," she said. Gratitude was expressed to all members of society who supported this initiative.

During the inauguration and training program, Sister Lenita D Souza SRA, Amar Jyothi College addressed the students, emphasising values such as effort, discipline, concentration, and dedication. Programme coordinator Manjappa M K also participated and spoke about parents’ responsibility toward education and the importance of educational awareness. He thanked students and parents for their cooperation and extended his best wishes to all.
