Mangaluru, Jan 27: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru commemorated the 77th Republic Day with dignity and patriotic fervour through a meaningful celebration on campus.
The programme commenced with a ceremonial welcome to the chief guest, asst. commandant Priya accompanied by the joint secretary Sr Josephine Pais, principal Sr Melissa, administrator Sr Carissima, superior Sr Asha Prima, vice principal Sr Teena, and PTA vice president Ananthesh Prabhu. NCC Cadets Yohan Mathew and Johan Saji escorted the dignitaries while the school band added grace and splendour to the occasion.















































With due honour and reverence, the chief guest unfurled the national flag, followed by the ceremonial salute to the tune of the national anthem, evoking a profound sense of unity and national pride. The disciplined march past by the NCC, Scouts and Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls and the school houses stood out as a visual spectacle of precision, coordination and teamwork. The march past commentary was aptly presented by Tr Divyarani and the formal Republic Day programme was confidently anchored by Atharv and Shanaya.
The cultural programme, presented by the students of Grade VII A, B and C, commenced in the school auditorium with a solemn prayer service invoking divine blessings on the nation and its people. A graceful welcome dance set the tone, followed by a warm welcome address to the chief guest, dignitaries and the audience by Kaitlyn, Tanvi and Allan.
The historical and patriotic importance of the day was further enriched through vibrant dance performances and expressive commentaries by Arya, Anchal, Kewin, Keona, Ankur, Jianna, Aneesha, Hrithwik, Tanish, Rion, Deekshith and Shreeya, reflecting the nation’s journey as a Sovereign Democratic Republic and the core constitutional values of justice, equality, and liberty.
The programme also featured a few spirited patriotic group songs, performed with enthusiasm and harmony. The melodious vocals and expressive movements beautifully conveyed the spirit of nationalism, celebrating the core values of our Constitutions.
In her inspiring address, asst. commandant Priya emphasised the importance of responsibility, determination, and inner zeal in upholding constitutional values. She encouraged students to consider joining the armed forces, highlighting how NCC training provides valuable opportunities and guidance. Urging students to dream big and work hard, she also praised them for their commendable performances and disciplined conduct.
The march past results were announced amid loud applause and cheer. For grades 5 & 6, the Blue Bells secured the First Prize, while Orchids emerged as the runners-up. In the grades 7 & 8 category, Anthuriums bagged the first prize, followed by Blue Bells as the runners-up. The winning teams were awarded the prizes by the chief guest, appreciating their discipline and coordination.
Principal Sr Melissa appreciated the students of grade VII A, B and C for presenting a meaningful programme. She expressed her gratitude to the chief guest for graciously presiding over the celebration and inspiring the students with her motivating words.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Advithi and Navika, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, teachers, students, parents, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The 77th Republic Day celebration concluded on a patriotic note, leaving everyone inspired by the spirit of unity, discipline, and national pride. The programme stood as a meaningful reminder of the values enshrined in the Constitution and the responsibility of every citizen to uphold them.
