Srinivas University conducts two-day workshop on Functional Integrated Aquatic Therapy

Mangaluru, Jan 27: The Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University, organized a successful two-day workshop on Functional Integrated Aquatic Therapy on January 22 and 23. The programme featured Dr G K Balaji, HOD of Physiotherapy at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, as the primary resource person for 42 participating students.

The workshop provided a unique blend of practical and academic learning. Morning sessions at the We One Aqua Centre (Smart City Swimming Pool) offered hands-on training in specialized techniques, including PNF integration, Ai Chi, and relaxation methods for neurological and musculoskeletal conditions using aquatic equipment.

The afternoon academic sessions at the Pandeshwar city campus focused on the theoretical applications of Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), featuring a live patient demonstration and discussions on Craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation.

The event was inaugurated by dean Dr Thrishala Noronha and HOD Dr Premkumar, alongside senior faculty members. The programme, coordinated by Dr Akshitha K R and Dr Jahnavi K Salian, concluded with the distribution of certificates and a memento presentation to Dr Balaji. This initiative highlights Srinivas University’s commitment to equipping students with advanced, evidence-based therapeutic skills in specialized rehabilitation.
