Governor hosts Republic Day reception at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan; CM, dignitaries present

Mumbai, Jan 27: The Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat Acharya Devvrat hosted a reception and tea party for invited guests on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day at Lok Bhavan Mumbai on Monday, January 26. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, chief justice S Chandrashekhar and others were in attendance.

The Governor addressed the gathering and extended his Republic Day greetings to all. Wife of the Governor Darshana Devi, Amruta Fadnavis, chairman of Legislative Council Prof Ram Shinde, speaker of the Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, deputy chairperson of the Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, ministers Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Ashish Shelar, chief secretary Rajesh Agrawal, DGP Sadanand Date, vice-chancellors of agricultural and non-agricultural universities, Mumbai CP Deven Bharti, consuls of various countries posted in Mumbai, artists from film industry and other eminent personalities from diverse fields were present.

Industrialists Ashok Hinduja and Prakash Hinduja, senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces, Civil Service and police service were also present. Playback singer Jagat Varma presented a programme of patriotic songs on the occasion.
