Mumbai, Jan 21: Beneficiaries of the Maharashtra government’s Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana who faced errors while completing their mandatory e-KYC will now undergo physical verification, with District Collectors directed to carry out checks through Anganwadi workers.

Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatakare said all beneficiaries were given time until December 31, 2025, to complete e-KYC for the effective implementation of the scheme, which aims at the economic empowerment of women and improving their health and nutrition.

“However, it has been observed that due to certain reasons, wrong options were selected during the e-KYC process. Therefore, as per the scheme’s criteria, instructions have been issued to all District Collectors to conduct physical verification of such beneficiary women at the regional level through Anganwadi workers,” Tatakare said in a post on X.

As per the state government resolution, beneficiaries are required to complete e-KYC compulsorily every year through the official portal ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. Eligible women must complete verification and Aadhaar authentication within two months to receive the monthly assistance in their bank accounts. Failure to do so will result in the benefits being withheld.

The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a flagship initiative of the Maharashtra government under which eligible women receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500. Women aged between 21 and 65 years with an annual family income below Rs 2.5 lakh are eligible for the scheme, provided they are not availing benefits under any other government programme.

The assistance amount is directly credited to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Eligible beneficiaries can apply online through the official portal or by visiting nearby government assistance centres and common service centres.
