Mass Sri Satyanarayana Mahapuja held in Mumbai during Makara month with devotion and fervour

Mumbai, Jan 19: The Gokula Gopalakrishna Public Trust, Gokula, Sion, organised a mass Sri Satyanarayana Mahapuja during the auspicious Makara month, in association with the BSKB Association, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, drawing a large gathering of devotees and creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

The puja was conducted under the priesthood of Veda Murthy Daregu??e Srinivasa Bhat, with the yajamanatva undertaken by the Trust’s vice-president Y Mohanraj and his wife Savitri. After special prayers at the Sri Krishna Temple, the collective sankalpa for the assembled devotees was administered by Ramavithala Kalluraya.

Following the completion of the rituals in strict adherence to tradition and the maha mangalarati, Veda Murthy Daregu??e Srinivasa Bhat, in his benediction, said: “On this sacred occasion of Makara Sankranti, in the divine presence of Gokula Sri Gopalakrishna, we have performed the mass Sri Satyanarayana Puja with profound devotion, accompanied by Sahasranamarchana and Harinama Sankirtana. May the Lord bless all the devotees present with long life, good health, happiness and prosperity.”

As part of the religious observances, a Suvasini Puja was held under the sponsorship of Dr Sahana Pothi, with Rohini Bayirya participating in the ritual, which was performed by the Mohanraj couple.

Adding cultural richness to the event, the Gokula Bhajana Mandali, along with bhajana groups from the Gokula area—Gopalakrishna Bhajana Mandali, Harikrishna Bhajana Mandali, Vitthala Bhajana Mandali and Skanda Bhajana Mandali—rendered soulful Harinama Sankirtana based on Dasa Sahitya, centred on the theme “Sri Charana”, with narration by Prema Rao. Members of the Gokula Women’s Wing distributed arishina-kumkuma and ellu unde to women devotees.

Members of the Board of Trustees and Religious Committee of the Gokula Gopalakrishna Public Trust, office-bearers and executive committee members of the BSKB Association, and more than 200 devotees were present on the occasion. After the daily worship of Sri Gopalakrishna, theertha prasada was distributed to all service beneficiaries and devotees, marking a spiritually fulfilling conclusion to the programme.
