Raichur, Jan 15: Siddharamananda Puri Swamiji of the Kaginele Kanaka Gurupeetha at Thinthani in Devadurga taluk of Raichur district passed away in the early hours of Wednesday following a heart attack. The sudden demise of the revered seer has plunged devotees and members of the Halumatha community into deep shock and grief.
Swamiji had inaugurated the Halumatha Samskruthika Vaibhava programme just three days ago, making the news of his passing all the more heartbreaking for followers. He reportedly suffered a massive heart attack early this morning and breathed his last despite efforts to save him.

Chief minister Siddaramaiah, several ministers, and prominent leaders of the Halumatha community shared a close rapport with Siddharamananda Puri Swamiji. Condolences have poured in from across the state, with many leaders recalling his spiritual guidance and social commitment.
Considered one of the youngest seers among the four Kaginele peethas, Siddharamananda Puri Swamiji commanded a large following across Karnataka. He hailed from Kalamarahalli village in Challakere taluk of Chitradurga district and served as the pontiff of the Kalaburagi division branch of the Kaginele Kanaka Gurupeetha Mahasamsthana.
Swamiji embraced spiritual life at the young age of 18, leaving his home to pursue a path of devotion and asceticism at Murugha Math. He underwent rigorous Vedic studies along with seers Shivananada Puri, Ishwarananda Puri and Niranjanananda Puri. After completing his spiritual education, he was appointed as the pontiff of the Kanaka Gurupeetha in the Kalaburagi division.
In 2009, he established a peetha in a kutira at Sindhanur, followed by the establishment of the Thinthani Math in 2011. He rose to prominence after organising the Halumatha Samskruthika Vaibhava programme in 2012–13, which brought together tribal and nomadic communities from across India. He earned widespread recognition for fostering unity and cultural harmony among these communities.
