Ulhasnagar civic body suspends sanitation inspector for poll code violation

Ulhasnagar, Jan 12: The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has suspended sanitation inspector Naresh Parmar for violating the Model Code of Conduct in force during the ongoing civic elections.

The action followed the discovery that Parmar’s photograph appeared alongside a political leader on a hoarding linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was also found using the same image as his WhatsApp status, a move that authorities viewed as a political endorsement by a government employee.

UMC Commissioner Manisha Awhale ordered Parmar’s suspension on Friday after a preliminary inquiry concluded that his actions breached election norms and compromised the neutrality expected of public servants during the poll period.

Confirming the development, UMC spokesperson Ajay Sable said Parmar has been suspended with immediate effect for violating the Model Code of Conduct. The civic body reiterated that strict action will be taken against any official found engaging in political activities during elections.
