Mangaluru, Jan 12: To commemorate the ‘Class of 1974: 50 Years Reunion’ in December 2024, alumni of St Aloysius High School have instituted the ‘Class of 1974 Meritorious Student Scholarship’ with an objective to fully cover tuition fees, uniforms, books & shoes of two meritorious English medium students from Std VIII, IX & X, respectively. Classmates have generously contributed towards the ‘Class of 1974 Meritorious Student Scholarship’ fund, to ensure the scholarship is ongoing and perpetual.
For the academic year 2024-2025 two meritorious students from class VIII Roshni N H and Aniya Jessica Madtha were awarded the scholarship, and each of them were presented a cheque for Rs 25,600 on December 28. On July 31, Roshni & Aniya were presented cheques Rs 25,600 each for the current academic year (2025-2026).






For the academic year 2025-2026, the headmaster and teachers have identified two meritorious students from class VIII — Sweedel Lovita D’Sa and Immanuel Anchan to receive the class of 1974 Meritorious Student Scholarship.
On January 8, during the school assembly, scholarships for the amount of Rs 25,600 each were presented to both Sweedel and Immanuel. Headmaster Fr Johnson Pinto SJ and assistant headmaster Lancy D’Souza was present. Class of 1974 was represented by Clarence Pereira, Edward Machado, Prashant Amin, Sadashiva Nayak and Theodore Lasrado.
After the award ceremony we met with last year’s class of 1974 Meritorious Student Scholarship recipients Roshni and Aniya, and it was heartening to learn from the headmaster that they are doing exceptionally well in their studies.
