Mangaluru: Food waste awareness drive held at Srinivas University

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 11: Food waste awareness drive was held on December 31 at Srinivas University Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management.

The programme aimed to sensitise students about the importance of avoiding food wastage. The posters conveyed strong messages on mindful eating and responsible consumption. Students interacted with fellow students and created awareness near the canteen area. They encouraged others to take only the quantity of food they could consume.

As part of the initiative, a meaningful quote on food waste was written on the canteen food coupons. Students also took a pledge to not waste food in their daily lives. Many students willingly signed the pledge board.

The drive helped inculcate a sense of responsibility and gratitude towards food. It emphasized respect for food, farmers, and natural resources.

Overall, the awareness drive was a meaningful step towards promoting sustainable habits among students.
