Hyderabad, Jan 11: In a major anti-encroachment drive, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Saturday reclaimed 15 acres of government land valued at around Rs3,000 crore in Miyapur.
The operation was carried out in Survey No. 44 of Maktha Mahabubpet village in Miyapur, under the Serilingampally mandal of Rangareddy district. Officials said HYDRAA had earlier removed encroachments over five acres in the same survey number last month following complaints.

As part of the continued action, 18 sheds spread across nearly 200 metres along the Miyapur–Bachupally main road were demolished, leading to the recovery of an additional 15 acres. The encroached land, where boundaries had allegedly been illegally marked using tin sheets, was cleared and secured with fencing. HYDRAA boards were also installed to mark the land as government property.
Officials said the drive followed reports of illegal registrations of government land in Survey No. 44, which had led to the suspension of the concerned sub-registrar. A detailed field inspection was subsequently conducted by HYDRAA along with officials from related departments to verify records and ground realities, after which the encroachments were conclusively established.
Acting on the directions of HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, the agency removed encroachments over the 15-acre stretch and took possession of the land on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against an individual identified as Imran, who allegedly encroached upon around 1.5 acres in the same survey number using documents pertaining to Survey No. 159. HYDRAA officials said strict action would continue against encroachers and those involved in illegal registrations.
