Mangaluru, Jan 10: Small hands and young hearts were united in faith, spreading love and kindness on Holy Childhood Day at Carmel Central School, Kotekar.
Carmel Central School, Kotekar joyfully celebrated Holy Childhood Day on January 9. The programme was organised to foster faith, fun, and friendship under the inspiring theme, “Small hands and young hearts can make a big difference.” The celebration was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Sr Clara AC, along with principal Sr Pramila, administrator Sr Julie Ann, and vice principal Sr Anitha, whose presence added grace and significance to the occasion.

The programme commenced with a melodious prayer song that invoked god’s blessings and created a serene and prayerful atmosphere. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance presented by the students, spreading joy and enthusiasm among the audience. Sheldon and Rishon delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the dignitaries, teachers, and students present for the celebration.
The importance and significance of Holy Childhood Day were beautifully explained by Neola, who highlighted the values of love, care, responsibility, and being true children of god. A lively action song followed, encouraging active participation and reminding everyone to praise god with joy and energy.
The students then presented a meaningful skit based on 'The Good Samaritan', conveying a powerful message of compassion, kindness, and love for one another. The performance deeply touched the audience and effectively reinforced the values promoted through Holy Childhood Day.
Addressing the gathering, Sr Clara AC spoke about god’s unconditional love and encouraged the children to strive for holiness by practicing goodness, sharing with others, and helping those in need in their daily lives. Her inspiring words motivated the students to live their faith through simple acts of love and service.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Winona, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, management, principal, administrator, vice principal, teachers, and students for their cooperation and support. The entire programme was confidently compered by Evon and Glavi, who ensured the smooth flow of events.
The celebration concluded on a meaningful note, leaving everyone enriched with the true spirit of Holy Childhood Day and its message of faith, love, and togetherness.
