Mangaluru: Innovision 2026 – 8-hour ideathon held at AIMIT

Mangaluru, Jan 7: The School of Information Science and Technology and the Department of Placement and Training, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), AIMIT Centre, in association with DLithe, successfully organised Innovision 2026 – an 8-hour Ideathon on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 9 am. The event provided an exciting platform for Aloysians to showcase creativity, innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while addressing real-world challenges.

The programme began with a formal inauguration, followed by an inspiring keynote address by the chief guest, Lanwin Lobo, senior director – Data Science and AI, MResult Technologies Pvt. Ltd. He motivated the participants with valuable insights on innovation, industry expectations, and the importance of thinking beyond conventional boundaries.

The event was organised under the guidance of Fr Dr Kiran Cotha SJ, director, AIMIT, and Dr Hemalatha N, dean, School of Information Science & Technology.

This year’s Ideathon witnessed overwhelming participation with 45 teams comprising 213 participants. Teams worked across 10 categories, each offering 3 problem statements, providing a total of 30 themes to choose from. Prior to the event, each team underwent a week-long mentorship to refine and strengthen their ideas.

The competition was evaluated in two phases. The initial round was judged by a panel of nine judges, while the final was evaluated by three distinguished judges – Dr Ruban S, Lanwin Lobo, and Aleem Sheikh.

The valedictory programme was conducted in the presence of Dr Manoj S J, professor, AIMIT Centre, Aloysius University, Dr Ruban S, dean of Engineering, Aloysius University, and the faculty coordinators Rashmi Bekal and Brill Brenhill.

The winners of Innovision 2026 were Vishaka Shetty, Apoorvashree, and Yashwitha N L, while the runners-up were Charan Kumar, Shishir M S, Sathwik, Danush J, and Janesh Sudesh Kumar. Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up in recognition of their outstanding ideas and efforts.

The event concluded with a video montage capturing memorable highlights, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks. Innovision 2026 not only celebrated innovation but also reinforced the spirit of collaboration and futuristic thinking among young technologists.
