Mangaluru, Jan 7: The Jyothi Pradhan and farewell programme at Lourdes Central School (LCS) for the outgoing students of class X and XII was organized on January 6 in the Bejai Church Hall. The programme began with the photo-session followed by a grand procession to the hall accompanied by the school band. A prayer song by class IX students brought a moment of peace before the celebrations. The dignitaries, teachers, and students were warmly welcomed by the MCs.
The informal programme included ice-breaking games conducted by teachers, followed by a skit presented by class IX students, portraying relatable school experiences. This was followed by a dance performance that added vibrancy to the occasion. A heartfelt wishing song from the juniors to the seniors expressed love, prayers, and good wishes. A warm and affectionate audio-visual presentation of specially curated pictures of their good times at LCS instantly created a nostalgic atmosphere.

















































The formal Jyothi Pradhan programme commenced with a welcome address by Anita Thomas, vice principal who also spoke on the significance of Jyothi Pradhan ceremony. The programme continued with the prayer service and the lighting of the lamp that created an ambience of reverence and solemnity. The passing of the light by teachers to the student representatives highlighted the role of teachers in guiding and shaping students’ lives. The students then took the pledge, administered by the Head Boy, and sang the school anthem.
Student representatives Nived Rajesh from class X and Rachel Fernandes from class XII shared their experiences and memories. Linet D’Souza addressed the gathering with words of assurance and guidance. The programme then proceeded with the distribution of certificates to prize winners and academic achievers. Fr Johnson Sequeira, the principal addressed the students to retrospect and introspect their contributions to the school and appreciated them for a fruitful academic year, the students then presented a token of their appreciation to the institution. A farewell song by teachers added an emotional touch to the occasion. Fr J B Saldanha, the manager in his address urged the students to realise and acknowledge the sacrifices of their parents and assured prayers for their betterment and success. The programme concluded with Fr Roydon Misquith saying the grace before meals and wishing the best for their future.
The programme ended with a Baila performance and fellowship meal, celebrating togetherness and joy. The farewell programme concluded on a memorable note, leaving the outgoing students with cherished memories of their school life.
The cultural programme was vibrantly presented by the MCs Avinash, Tamanna, Sannidhi and Nevaan of class IX. The Jyothi Pradhan was compeered by Gowri Ravi.
