Columbus, Jan 5: A manhunt is underway in the US state of Ohio after a well-known dentist and his wife were shot dead inside their home in Columbus, leaving behind two young children who were found crying but physically unharmed.
The victims have been identified as Spencer Tepe and his wife Monique. Their bodies were discovered on December 30 after a concerned colleague of Spencer alerted police when he failed to report to work and could not be reached. Authorities have not named any suspects or disclosed a motive so far.

According to local reports, Columbus police said there were no indications of a murder-suicide. A police dispatcher report obtained by local media reportedly mentioned a code associated with robbery, though officials have not confirmed any details.
Police records indicate that officers responded to the initial call at around 9.03 am. An officer later reported receiving no response at the residence. The couple’s children were later found inside the home, unharmed.
The deaths have left the family and community devastated. In a statement, the Tepe family described Spencer and Monique as “extraordinary people” whose lives were filled with love and connection. They said the couple shared a deeply happy relationship and a home full of warmth, and were devoted to their children.
As the investigation continues, police have appealed to the public for assistance, seeking any video footage, photographs or digital evidence that may show suspicious activity or vehicles near the Tepe residence between midnight and 9 am on December 30.
The family said they are committed to pursuing justice and ensuring a secure future for the children. “While no outcome can ever undo this loss, we are determined to see this tragedy brought fully and fairly to justice,” the statement said.
