Mangaluru, Dec 30: Yenepoya Research Centre (YRC), in association with Yenepoya Technology Incubator (YTI) and Centre for Integrative Omics Data Science (CIODS), Yenepoya Deemed to be University (YDU) hosted Resovate 2025 on December 16.
The programme was graced by the honourable deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Dakshina Kannada district, Darshan H V, IAS who addressed the gathering as the guest of honour by providing three solutions to solve any scientific related problem. He emphasised the need to clearly identify the core problem and address it for all stakeholders, understand stakeholder concerns, and ensure that the proposed solutions are economically accessible to the general public.




The chief guest, Puneeth Kumar Mishra, scientist/engineer ‘SG’, U R Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, Bengaluru, addressed and highlighted the importance of scientific innovation, interdisciplinary research and collaborative efforts in driving progress within the research community.
The formal inaugural programme was also graced by the vice chancellor of YDU, Dr M Vijayakumar who delivered the presidential address highlighting the need for nurturing innovation ecosystems within academic institutions. He also emphasised the importance and contributions of Yenepoya Technology Incubator in YDU.
Additionally, the pro vice chancellor of YDU, Dr B H Sripathi Rao also graced the occasion. The programme also witnessed the distribution of research awards sponsored by the respected Dr Arun Bhagwath, professor of YRC, chief executive officer of Yenepoya International School, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, recognising outstanding contributions by researchers of YRC and CIODS.
Following the inaugural ceremony, “ISMo 1.0: Innovative Scientific Model Making” – A district level competition was conducted for the undergraduate students of Dakshina Kannada District and demonstration and evaluation of the models was carried out, along with expo exhibitions titled “RExpoNSE 1.0: Research Expo, Networking and Scientific Exchange”. This was followed by the valedictory programme for ISMo 1.0 which was graced by Dr Meenakshi Munshi, former adviser and scientist ‘G’, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and Dr Rekha P D., director of Research and Development Cell, YDU, along with Muralidhara Ghate and Gayathri Ghate, the parents of Dr Vivek Ghate., director of Trivexia Solutions Private Limited and sponsor of the ISMo 1.0 event.
Dr Meenakshi Munshi addressed the gathering. Further prizes (certificates, trophies and monetary award) for ISMo 1.0 were presented to the top three teams. Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru secured both the first and third positions, while the second position was bagged by A J Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru.
Additionally, the Science Communication Club, ReSCom, initiated by the MSc students of the Yenepoya Research Centre, was formally launched during the programme, highlighting the significance of effective scientific communication in strengthening research and outreach.
The afternoon featured vibrant cultural performances by students and teaching and non-teaching staff of YRC, YTI, and CIODS, followed by the distribution of awards by Prathap Lingaiah, state NSS officer, Karnataka and Dr Ashwini S Shetty, director and Directorate of Extension and Outreach Activities, professor of Anatomy, YDU for Resovate pre-event competitions held in November, including Colour Week, Body and Mind Week, and Cultural Week, celebrating diverse creative, cultural, and athletic talents
