New Delhi, Dec 30: Dense fog on Tuesday brought operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) to a standstill, leading to the cancellation of 118 flights, diversion of 16 services, and delays affecting over 130 flights.
Officials said 60 arrivals and 58 departures were called off due to poor visibility. Diverted flights were sent to alternate airports, while data from Flightradar24 showed an average departure delay of 28 minutes.

Delhi International Airport Ltd clarified on X that flight operations continued, but non-CAT III equipped aircraft—which lack the technology to land in extremely low visibility—faced disruptions.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) instructed airlines to ensure passenger facilitation during the challenging weather, including:
• Timely flight updates
• Meals for delayed passengers
• Rebooking or refunds for cancellations
• No denial of boarding for on-time check-ins
• Assistance with baggage and grievance redressal
Passengers have been urged to check flight status before heading to the airport amid ongoing fog conditions.
