Kadaba: Tempo collision claims life of Kasargod-based teacher

Kadaba, Dec 30: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a tempo at Athur on December 29 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Khader Sakhafi (53), a resident of Sunkadakatte in Kadaba, who was serving as a teacher at a religious institution in Kasargod.

He had come with his family to attend a relative’s madarangi ceremony. After alighting from a bus at Athur on the Uppinangady–Subrahmanya state highway, he sent his family ahead in an autorickshaw and was walking towards the venue when a goods tempo rammed into him.

Locals rushed him to the Puttur government hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Kadaba police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

    May his soul rest in peace. Please restrain from addressing him as a teacher, it is an insult to school teachers, as he was a maulavi!
