Mangaluru: Mount Carmel’s Jesnia Correa wins silver at SGFI National Skating Championship

Mangaluru, Dec 29: Jesnia Correa, a student of grade IX of Mount Carmel Central School, has brought immense pride and honour to the institution by winning the silver medal in the 1000-metre Rink Race in under-17 category, at the 69th Roller Skating Championship conducted by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).

The prestigious national-level championship was held at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, from December 26 to 29, and witnessed participation from exceptionally talented skaters representing schools from across the country. Competing against the nation’s finest athletes in her category, Jesnia displayed remarkable speed, stamina, and competitive spirit to secure a commendable second position.

This victory adds another shining chapter to Jesnia’s impressive skating journey. Over the years, she has consistently excelled at various levels, securing several gold and silver medals in multiple events.

Most recently, she clinched a gold medal at the CBSE National Skating Tournament, further establishing her as a promising young talent in the field of roller skating.

Jesnia’s success is strongly supported by her parents, Jerome Correa and Pritha Correa of Bejai, who remain her strongest pillars of encouragement, motivating her every day to pursue her dreams with confidence and determination. She undergoes professional training at the Hi Flyers Skating Club, Skate City, Ashoknagar, where her skills are meticulously honed under the dedicated mentorship of her coaches Mohan, Prateek Raja, Ramanand, and Kumar.

Her outstanding achievement stands as a testament to her perseverance, disciplined training, and passion for skating.
