SEC extends voters’ list publication deadline in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Dec 27: The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) on Friday directed all municipal commissioners to publish the polling station-wise voters’ list, including the names of duplicate voters, on January 3, extending the deadline once again.

The poll body announced December 27 as the date for updating the voters’ list. Elections to 29 municipal corporations in the state, including Mumbai, are scheduled to be held on January 15, with counting of votes to take place the following day.

Earlier, the deadline for publishing the voters’ list was fixed for December 22, which was later extended to December 27.
