Mangaluru, Dec 21: The Alumni Cricket Match & Fun Games 2025–26 was successfully organized by the St Aloysius ITI Alumni Association, Mangaluru, on December 21at the St Aloysius Girls Hostel Ground, Nehru Nagar, Ullal Someshwara. The event was conducted with the objective of strengthening alumni relationships, promoting physical fitness, and fostering sportsmanship and unity among alumni, staff, and students.

Joseph James, chief manager, Canara Bank, Kodialbail, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Sr Ejelda Joseph, manager, St Aloysius College Student Hostel, and Rohan Monteiro, alumni of Plumber Trade, were the guests of honour. The programme was presided over by Roshan D’Souza, principal, St Aloysius ITI. Alwyn Menezes, vice principal and Kiran D’Souza, convener of the programme, along with Alumni Association members, staff, and students, were present on the occasion.

The programme commenced with a prayer service conducted jointly by the staff members and students, invoking divine blessings for the successful conduct of the event. The programme was efficiently compered by Wilson, who guided the proceedings smoothly throughout.

Following the prayer, the dignitaries were warmly welcomed. The principal, Roshan D’Souza, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in institutional growth.

The chief guest, Joseph James, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of sports and physical fitness in maintaining a balanced personal and professional life. He encouraged alumni to remain actively connected with the institution and support its activities.

This was followed by a brief address by Sr Ejelda Joseph, guest of honour, who appreciated the initiative of the Alumni Association and motivated participants to develop teamwork, discipline, and cooperation through sports and recreational activities.

As part of the inaugural programme, a Zumba dance session and morning exercise was conducted, creating an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere among the participants. In addition to cricket, various fun games and recreational activities were organized, ensuring active participation, enjoyment, and relaxation for all attendees.

The Alumni Cricket Match was formally inaugurated by the chief guest by cutting the ribbon tied to the ball, marking the official commencement of the match. The cricket match was played in a friendly yet competitive spirit, reflecting true sportsmanship among the alumni participants.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Wilson, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, guests of honour, principal, vice principal, Alumni Association members, staff, volunteers, and all participants for their valuable support and cooperation.

The Alumni Cricket Match & Fun Games 2025–26 was a grand success and proved to be a memorable occasion that strengthened alumni bonding, promoted physical fitness, and reinforced the spirit of unity and camaraderie within the St Aloysius ITI community.
