Mangaluru: Fire safety awareness programme held at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Dec 21: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School, Mangaluru, in association with the PTA, organised a fire safety awareness demonstration on December 20 for the students of classes I to VII along with the teaching and non-teaching staff. The programme was conducted by the Pandeshwar Fire Station with the aim of creating awareness about fire safety and emergency preparedness.

The session began with an introduction by the Asst headmaster, Liya D’Souza followed by a detailed explanation by the fire safety officers on the causes of fire, preventive measures and safety precautions to be followed at home and in school. The officers explained the importance of staying calm during emergencies and demonstrated the correct ways to evacuate safely.

A live demonstration was conducted to show the proper use of fire extinguishers and the techniques to control small fires. The students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding emergency handling.

The session was highly informative and interactive. It helped the students understand the importance of fire safety and prepared them to respond responsibly during emergencies. The school expressed its gratitude to the Pandeshwar Fire Station team and the PTA for organising this valuable awareness programme.
