Karnataka Social Club - Bahrain hosts Christmas gala for its members

Bahrain, Dec 20: The members of Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain were treated at an evening of festive celebration and spirited dancing on Thursday, December 18. The evening commenced with a nostalgic session of traditional carols, led by Freeda Sequeira and her ensemble. Musical accompaniment for the vocalists was provided by Sherwin, a budding organist.

Popular singers of the Mangalorean Club, Arun Fernandes, Thomas Fernandes provided backup vocals with Jeevan D'Mello forming the trio. The stage was now set for the most awaited moment for the young ones, the arrival of their favourite characters during this period of time. The arrival of the two Santas for the evening ensured that they received their yearly quota of goodies and Christmas gifts.

The stage was now set for impressive performances from three dance groups, including 'The shining stars' choreographed by Preetam Acharya and 'Dance express' led by another promising choreographer, Eunice D'Souza. A third group showcased a seamless blend of club members and their younger counterparts.

An opportunity was then presented to the audience

to rock the floor to a session of line dancing to popular tracks like 'Achy Breaky Heart' and 'Shalalala' among the favourites.

Following this was a formal ceremony to honour participants of a sports event conducted earlier in the month. Blue house was officially announced as the winners with their captain Thomas Fernandes and his teammates were awarded the prestigious rolling trophy by the acting president Melvyn Dantis

Dinner time entertainment included a rendition of popular Hindi, Konkani and Kannada songs by the popular trio of DJ Francis, Thomas Fernandes and Raghu Bandhari.

Following the sumptuous Christmas banquet, the festivities reached the grand finale with a vibrant musical showcase. The atmosphere was further elevated by a father and daughter duo, DJ Francis and DJ Jessica who curated a rhythmic medley of renowned Konkani and Bollywood hits that kept the attendees engaged on the dance floor till the wee hours of the next day.
