Mangaluru, Dec 19: The 17th Nursery and Kindergarten Annual Day of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, was celebrated with joy and splendour on December 19, unfolding the theme ARC-EN-CIEL: Where Little Stars Splash the Sky with Colours. The celebration reflected innocence, imagination and boundless creativity.
Chief guest Swaroop Devaiah, founder and director of Priyadarshani Montessori House of Children, along with the principal, members of the management and PTA vice president Ananthesh Prabhu, were accorded a warm welcome with the traditional Poorna Kumbha Swagatha.

A soulful prayer dance set a reverent tone for the programme, followed by a graceful welcome dance that captivated the audience. Principal Sr Melissa delivered the welcome address and formally introduced the chief guest.
The highlight of the programme was the Christmas musical drama The Magic of Christmas, which conveyed the message of spreading the three treasures of Christmas — love, peace and kindness. This was followed by the presentation of the annual report.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest appreciated the school’s holistic approach to early childhood education and observed that learning at the kindergarten level extends beyond academics to nurture values, confidence and emotional well-being. She emphasised the importance of parental involvement and noted that a loving and supportive home environment plays a vital role in reinforcing these values and promoting children’s overall growth.
Another major attraction was the thematic skit ARC-EN-CIEL: The Rainbow of Friendship, in which nursery and kindergarten students blended drama, dance and expressive movements to portray the beauty of friendship. The seven colours of the rainbow were creatively depicted, with each colour symbolising values that inspire love, kindness, peace and unity.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Joanne, Kaushik and Pranvi. The programme was compered by young emcees Novara, Jeshik, Naifa, Chrisel, Fliana, Petrina, Sohan, Leon, Chiranth and Christle.
The event concluded on a joyful note, leaving behind smiles, applause and the lingering magic of a rainbow painted across the sky by little stars.
