Sullia: Accused absconding for four years nabbed by police, sent to judicial custody

Sullia, Dec 18: In a major breakthrough, Sullia police have arrested Nagesh, a resident of Kaduru village, who had been absconding for nearly four years in connection with Case No. 47/2022 under Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused, wanted for alleged fraud and breach of trust, was apprehended on Thursday, December 18, at Chikkabidarikallu in Bengaluru by Sullia police personnel head constable Ramesh and constable Shreeshaila.

Following his arrest, Nagesh was produced before the court.

The court, taking cognisance of the case, has ordered judicial custody for the accused.

Police officials termed the arrest a significant step in ensuring that absconding offenders face justice, even after years on the run.
